Palisadoes-Port Royal is the world’s seventh largest natural harbor. It contains threatened habitats for vulnerable animals like the american crocodile, green turtle, West Indian manatee, bottlenose dolphin and lined seahorse. The threatened mangrove communities are essential for the overall biodiversity of the area. Threats include: Natural resource harvesting (dynamite fishing), negative impact of visitors (on coral reefs) and littering and dumping.
